Age for Deck cadet after Pre-sea Training

Hello Meriner,

I am a Deck cadet completed my pre-sea training in Jan 2012. After completing pre-sea training i did not get any opportunity to get cadetship. Now my age is 27 year. IS the door of merchant navy is closed for me??

Please advice me...

  How did you complete any course approved by DG at age of 26 years? age limit for the Nautical courses is 25 years and maybe extended as per special circumstances eg.reservation. So if you have completed your pre-sea then definitely you can go ahead with your further sea training.
