The list is in order of seniority of Officers in Merchant Navy-

NOTE :

Technical Officers i.e Engineer Officers would be considered equivalent to those of Navigating Officers,but as Master will be considered superior to Chief Engineer but senior to Chief Officer and later superior to second engineer, second Officer junior to second engineer but senior to third engineer, same order applies to other Certified Officers too.

The following ranks won't be considered as a certified Officer in Merchant Navy-

Non-Certified Officers- Purser/Ship�s clerk, Electrical officer and Electronic Officer
