Changing over from tankers
Good day people,
I have been sailing as Ch. Off. for about 18 months on tankers. (Have recently cleared my Master's). I intend to change over from tankers to bulkers, containers or some other class with a relatively less stressful working environment. i have always served on tankers. Can you pls guide me through this move? Here are my faq?
1. Is such a change feasible?
2. if so, can you suggest any companies for long term employment. ( Family carriage preferred)

1. Yes it is possible ! Please contact individual Shipping Companies in India and confirm vacancy.
2. For family carriage we just wrote Family carriage for junior officers for sure such companies will allow senior officer too, in fact most shipping companies allow family carriage to senior officers.
While you must have analyzed everything, yet on a personal/friendly note can you detail a bit about "less stressful working environment" since I too always sailed on tankers (including senior ranks). Bon voyage and best of luck.
