Dear friends I am Deck Cadet and I know very little about Coastal Shipping.
Some ship only on home trade voyage. how can we differentiate these ship from foreign going ship. Is these vessel have unique no issued by DG shipping?
General Trading License issued by DG shipping for Foreign going or coastal.
Can A FG license holder vessel only sail in indian coast if yes how can I differentiate these ship from coastal ship?
Please discuss about this and clear my doubt.

0 cdt.Amit Kumar, if you have cleared your IInd Mate (FG) that clearly means you are eligible to sail onboard any vessel as a certified Officer (2nd/3rd) , There is no restriction on the tonnage for unlimited (FG) holders, hence you can sail across the globe if you are in possession of this certificate of competencey (COC).

0 The difference can be find out while signing the Articles of agreement, you can see the entire record of the vessel, but best way is to ask your company regarding the vessel pre-joining. FG and HT vessels have been separately dealt with under DG'S guidelines.
