ELECTRICAL OFFICER

Merchant Navy Rank "Electrical Officer" (E/O) belongs to the Engine department of merchant ship and is responsible to the Second Engineer/1st Assistant Engineer for:

1. UMS test schedules, alarm test etc.
   
2. The maintenance of the vessel's electrical and electronic equipment.
   
3. The adoption of safe working practices on board.
   
4. Assistance during maintenance as required over and above electrical equipment maintenance.
   
5. First level maintenance of communications, radio and navigation equipment.
