Is it safe for Spouse onboard ?
Recently during my US Visa Interview I met an Engine Cadet who asked me this question "Is it safe for wives on-board". Before answering I smiled remembering my previous curiosity about the same question.
From my Cadetship time I have been asking this question to my seniors, colleagues and even juniors who were married. FYI I got married recently so was really confused, should I join with my Wife this time or ever ? While I always got the mixed reactions, I admit I never advocated of joining or living with your wife on-board a Merchant Ship (my friends will testify this).
I thought of asking him why should you not ??? Who knows this kid could give the answer (I am open to learn from anyone). Well I did answered him but before telling what I answered I think lets face the question "What are you afraid of ?" While it might seem as the same question like before but it is a much straight question to ask as its always the fear which prevents you from doing something.
I collected few points from my group discussion with friends (I often engage in such conversations) as to why they should not join/live with wife onboard and would like your views at the poll i started at

In the end my biwi simply answered this question herself...."You see I never thought I could tolerate you for more than 3-4 months after marriage but see I am still tolerating you right....So do not make guesses "jab tak le nahin chaloge pata nahin chalega and waise bhi akele jaane nahin doongi :-)"
