NAVAL ARCHITECT to MARINE ENGINEER

Can somebody guide, how a naval architect become a marine engineer?

  Try Using Join Merchant Navy. Select your qualification and the page will guide you for the Maritime Courses in India.
  
  If I am not wrong then it would advise you 2 courses :
  1. DNS Course - Ignoring your naval architecture degree and considering only your 12th certificate.
  2. 1 yr GME Course - considering your arch certificate.
  
  I would suggest you to opt for the 2nd course as it is related a bit with the course you are doing. Best of luck.

  Thanks for your prompt reply.I have gone through the 2nd option of GME course.There are several institutes in India which offers this course,can you guide which is really good and having campus facility.I came to know that there is great rush now in lower officer grade in merchant navy,in that regard can i get any advantage of having naval architect degree? How much time overall it will take to become officer(marine)after b.tech course? Is it advisable to go for the same?

  Well I do not suggest any particular college for any course (I personally take it like endorsing, which I always avoid)....do your own homework and get the placement scenario by talking to some seniors yourself of the listed colleges...sorry on that front...
  
  Practically speaking your Nav Arch degree does not have any edge for joining Merchant Navy as marine engineer ...to tell the truth ..marine engineer job hardly deals with Architecture ...I would suggest you to join a service in your domain or continue further studies ...rest is your decision.
  
  Chalo glad to know that at least you are aware that their is less vacancy...Yes you are right unless you know someone its really difficult (if not impossible) to find a vacancy for Trainee Marine Engineers these days and that is another reason for avoiding GME with your Naval Architecture degree...
