oil tanker market present scenario & years ahead

Fellows,
Im 3engr.a tanker man.considering todays scenario of oil fleet (excess dwt, reduced freight, cost cutting,), would it be advisable to change to gas or dry fleet or continue with oil.

0 Oil trade is not going to die in near future or our generation.
The number if Gas tankers are very limited and that too manning for them is also very limited ...moreover senior rank mariners are ready to join as juniors on gas tankers just for the experience. Promotion is slow and in case of bad times it will be the first to be affected with limited ships and far more joiners.
Hope you do understand that dry fleets salary is less than tankers! If you have oil experience it is advisable to stay with that experience and try for faster promotion for securing future rather than switching to Gas tankers or Dry fleet vessels. Very best of luck for your future. - X
