Do I need to appear for IIT JEE for joining Merchant Navy ?

Every college has its own selection procedure. Government college like TS Chanakya, M.E.R.I. etc. select candidates on the basis of IIT JEE rank and additionally schedule counseling and interviews.
List of Courses and Government Maritime Colleges selecting through IIT are :

1. B. Sc. Nautical Science Degree at TS Chanakya
   
2. Marine Engineering Degree at MERI, Kolkata
   
3. Marine Engineering Degree at IMU
   
4. B. Sc. Maritime Science Degree at M.E.R.I., Mumbai.

For other private Maritime Colleges you may or may not need IIT JEE. There selection procedure differs with the Course you want to join and you need to confirm with the Maritime College.
