GMDSS GOC renewal doubt
My query regarding GMDSS GOC renewal is little different.
I have sailed as A/B and now i am giving my 2nd mates exam. I did my GMDSS around 5 years back, as then i thought of applying as radio officer, but unfortunately that never happened !
I never got my GMDSS GOC endorsed, it is about to be 5 years, can i renew this GOC for my 2nd mates purpose or I need to do some refresher course ?

2 Friend there is no refresher GMDSS course and you can safely go for GMDSS renewal.
Since you never sailed as officer so endorsement was not necessary, you have valid GMDSS GOC and for 2nd mate exams that is what is required. If your GMDSS GOC is not expiring soon then you can easily go for your endorsement and try to clear exams fast. However if it will expire soon then apply for its renewal soonest as it has been reported to take good 2-3 months for GMDSS renewal. Best of luck. - X
0 Thank you sooo much for guiding me. Was very much anxious regarding it. I have 5 years left for the expiry and I am left with one oral exam. So hope to get through with it as early as possible.
