From 1st July 2010 :
   The ISM Code has been changed a lot the full changes can be found from

      Remember this that Capt. Menon will ask you everytime "what was it before ?" e.g. he will ask you like if the Masters responsibilty p"eriodically reviewing the safety management system" then what did the code said before ?

Resolution adopted in june 2013 / in force july 2014
1.Section 6. RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL
The existing text of paragraph 6.2 is replaced with the following:
The Company should ensure that each ship is:
1 manned with qualified, certificated and medically fit seafarers in accordance with national and international requirements; and  
.2 appropriately manned in order to encompass all aspects of maintaining safe operations on board*

2.Section 12 COMPANY VERIFICATION, REVIEW AND EVALUATION
The following new paragraph 12.2 is inserted after existing paragraph 12.1 and the existing paragraphs 12.2 to 12.6 are renumbered as 12.3 to 12.7:
12.2 The Company should periodically verify whether all those undertaking delegated ISM-related tasks are acting in conformity with the Company's responsibilities under the Code."  

1. Resources and personnel section – wording manned appropriately in order to encompass all aspects of maintaining safe operation is included
2.Company verification,review & evaluation section – company should periodically verify whether all those undertaking delegated ISM-related tasks are acting in conformity with the Company's responsibilities under the Code.
3. Various foot note added at the end of various section for ease of reference to the resolution
4. Disclaimer in the foreword regarding the footnotes.



Resolution adopted in dec 2008/ into force july 2010
1.Major NC definition was changed by removing “ includes” with “or”
2.objective changed by introduction of word “ assess all risk” ( Risk assessment ) earlier it was identified risks.
3.Masters respo – reviewing is changed to periodic reviewing
4.Shipboard operation – “establish procedures for preparation of plans” is replaced by “establish plans “  for ship board operations
Likewise many area were the company was spse to establish procedures to do a thing is removed and its made as company responsibility to establish/ identify etc.
