What is rpsl ?

RPSL is recruitment and placement of seafarers in cir 9 of 2007 in which recruitment and placement agencies in india hiring indian seafarer are reqd to register themselves and obtain their RPSL no. it is done to avoid fraudlent practices carried out by night by fly operators and also in the interest of seafarer working on indian ship and fg ship that they are repatriated  in case they are stranded or distressed.Morever the seatime will not be counted if one has worked in a company without rpsl no.

  In Addition to above RPSL is only applicable to ship manning companies and not ownership companies. Hence Indian ownership companies do not need RPSL no.
