Lately I got a lot of queries on how to join the merchant Navy as a rating, Cadet or Engineers? The difficulty was that all had different qualification and in our effort to help them we gathered all the details and made it into a web page JOIN M. NAVY at www.jahajee.com/join-merchant-navy/
This page will not only help you in knowing which Merchant Navy pre-sea Courses you are eligible for but also detail you about that course. We do not stop at that !!! At which rank will you join and the promotion sequence can also be found by clicking on the Course name.
Due to our low interaction with the Navy and NCV friends we were unable to include any details for them, but we do have plans to include their details too in the near future. However we request them to please send us the details which they want to include.

Lately have received a lot of testimonials as feedback and queries related to our website. Thus am integrating Testimonials with our About Us page. Now you can leave the testimonials and general queries there itself.
Also we are starting the grading system where the users can grade the Maritime MMD Orals Answers and the Forum posts.

From the Cadet-ship days I have found Merchant Navy Mariners confused about the sea-time requirements for First Mate (FG) and Master (FG) Examinations. While I wrote a Forum about the Sea-time requirement at www.jahajee.com/preparing-for-masters-info-you-need-to-know/32/0.html for Master's Examination but it was "Dhruv" on whose feedback I made this small program, Sea-time Calculator.
If you are still confused as to how much you need to sail prior going for First Mate or Master examinations in India, try our Sea-time Calculator at www.jahajee.com/sea-time-calculator.php and do not forget to give us your feedback. I am also uploading the same so that an offline version of the same can be downloaded and used offline.
I wanted to make the same kind of Calculator for Merchant Navy Marine Engineers in India but I do not know their requirements. I will be highly thankful to any Merchant Navy Marine Engineer who could send me the details at feedback@jahajee.com. Thank you.

Since there were just too many updates to the website so have started the "BELL BOOK" section too which explains how the website has evolved with time. An extract of the same is still available on the home page. Thanks to all for your support.

Have been really long since last update.
So here we are.... Welcome to the improved Jahajee.com.
Not only have the looks changed but also the interface is more User friendly and better secured. Now the Merchant Navy mariners can upload their Pictures and have an improved discussion forum for discussion of Merchant Navy related issues.
Regarding online booking of Shipping Courses ...well the bad news is that the Maritime College with which I collaborated backed out ...but the good news is that I learned from my mistake and am working on another module.
Till then please keep the feedback rolling ...Thank you

Now we are giving the details of all Merchant Navy Shipping Courses and Merchant Navy Training Colleges in India. We have collected and queried the Indian Maritime Colleges for the Shipping Courses offered and Fees charged. Several Merchant Navy mariners presently doing the Shipping Courses too have helped us in our datas. My special thanks to those who replied and cooperated (this is what we call a "Community portal").
With all the collected details we are starting additional features..... now you can search about the Shipping Courses and Training Colleges. Choose the way you want to know from different search categories. You can even rearrange the table depending on your need for better selective results. Try out the new feature under the COURSES tab. From today we are also starting free as well as paid services to the Merchant Navy Training Colleges. Wonder how easier it would be for Merchant Navy mariners if only we could get the seats available in a particular Maritime Training College or the dates when they are planning to start the Shipping Courses or even better still, the Package Shipping Courses details or the discounts condition !!! Of course this can only be informed and kept up-to-date by the Maritime Colleges themselves. This is where the Services will help both a mariner as well as a Merchant Navy Training College.
Hope this ends the long search and calling individual Merchant Navy Training Colleges just to know if they conduct a particular Merchant Navy Shipping Course or not? Would really appreciate if you guys keep the feedback rolling and suggestions for improvement....Thank you

As promised the new version is here, with better tabbed and sub-tabbed navigation and faster page loads.We have also added the ABOUT US tab for the curious ones.
Also planning to add the FAQ (Frequently asked question) subtab in the Orals section to explain about the ORALS tab.

We are back and for sure, things have changed. My previous users will agree that the speed has improved. Looks have changed yet we were not satisfied and are constantly working to improve the site. Soon we will change the whole designing and in the newer version the page loads too will be quick. We are deliberately using minimum photos and graphics for faster results and still plan to continue like this for the time being. Meanwhile I request the Merchant Navy seafarers to add me as your friend in the "Orkut" so that we can update you constantly with the changes with the JAHAJEE.com (Sure the community too will always be updated). Thank you again for the valuable feedback and keep the feedbacks coming...that's the only guide for us now. Will be back soon.

Thanks for the encouraging feedbacks. Have started "Merchant Navy Discussion Forum" section on our site. One can discuss anything related to Merchant Navy...can attach readable files to to enhance the experience. Discuss anything you wish from any subject to your own personal experience. For viewing the topics and the Merchant Navy Forum no login required but for posting replies or for starting a new Topic, you need to login to JAHAJEE.com.
Hope the site ends the never ending search for Maritime MMD Oral Question sets each time we get down for exams. Hope it also enhances our preparation so that Merchant Navy mariners can be prepared for any Maritime MMD Surveyor. I do understand and admit the limitations of the JAHAJEE.com and will for sure work on it when I return (Speed is on top of the list).

As informed about the vagueness of the site, so have added the help at the main page of JAHAJEE.com .... brief details can be found now on placing the cursor on the links. Have removed more bugs ...still the Rediff users are not getting the password and really sorry for that ...rest other sites it is going as spam !!! (Don't understand why????). Anyway still working on it.!!
Also, I'm explaining the purpose of the JAHAJEE.com as well as the various features present.
The main page consists presently of 3 features
1. ORALS- This covers your Merchant Navy Maritime MMD Orals questions...The advantage being that You can query about the particular surveyor for a particular function at a particular Maritime MMD. Also post your orals and add any Maritime MMD Surveyor if not listed in the drop down box. For posting anything you need to be logged in. So if you do get your required Questions for Maritime MMD Orals for a Particular Maritime MMD Surveyor, Please do help the other Merchant Navy mariners too by posting your Maritime MMD Oral Questions. You can Post Your "Comments" too for any Orals Question or rather start a complete discussion for that Maritime MMD Orals by the Comments column.
2. DOWNLOADS-This feature was made with the basic idea of uploading self made Excel sheets on JAHAJEE.com which, we all know is really useful...Same way small self made programs which one thinks can be useful for other Jahajees can be uploaded and hence downloaded by various Merchant Navy Seafarers. Yet again You don't need to be logged in for downloading anything but for uploading you should be logged in to JAHAJEE.com
3. OTHERS-This allows you to edit your profile, report any abuse so that action can be taken from our end and our favourite "Feedback" which is guiding JAHAJEE.com
Hope this clarifies a bit !!! . As promised I'll very soon add another feature and post the explanation too...[presently testing it for bugs].
Request again the Maritime MMD Orals aspirants to please post their Maritime MMD Orals questions after their Orals...and thank you all for making this site what it is now .... Thank You very much !!!! :-)
