We stopped uploading files in the Downloads section in Sep 2013 and now we shifted downloads section to MARITIME FORUM >> DOWNLOAD FILES
Initially you used to upload the files in the Downloads section and then generate the link for posting it in MARITIME FORUM or MMD/MCA ORALS. This became unnecessary after Sep 2013 updates. We have created a separate tab in the Forum with the files list. Soon we will do the same in Blogs and Orals section too.
While we expect searching the topics and files easier with this update, yet the topics/files need to be cleaned and edited for more details & better understanding. I hope to start that soon. Hope you like these updates.
Users login using Facebook Login were not getting registered on our website, thanks to Abhay Singh for the feedback (who sadly was not registered).
We corrected the same today and things are back to normal.
We changed the Join Merchant Navy tab and have split the qualifications in different pages for better and simpler results.

Now you can search for latest asked Questions too. Previously only the most asked questions were shown ! Most Asked Questions shifted in horizontal sub tabs on the same page. Have also improved the Page speed for same.

So what is attribution required means in simple terms ! All the content contributed to JAHAJEE.com is under CC Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license, intended to be shared and remixed, but we do require attribution.
Attribution - You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
So what is attribution, lets say if you republish this content, we require that you:
Visually indicate that the content is from JAHAJEE.com in some way
Hyperlink directly to the original content on the source site (e.g. for this post What is attribution)
Show the author names and profile for the content
Hyperlink each author name directly back to their user profile page on JAHAJEE.com (e.g., https://www.jahajee.com/JAHAJEE/)

Now you can upload multiple files at once. Have raised the restriction to Max 10 files now. Following changes done in detail:
Simplified Comments
"COMMENT" & "PHOTO" seemed confusing to me so have merged it into one. You can upload more than 1 photo now in the same comment and reply. With this change I am expecting much better User experience specially for MMD/MCA Orals Examination section.
Issue reporting
We have simplified reporting of issue with less confusing options. As traffic is increasing, some comment/reply went unnoticed by us, hence we are publicly displaying any reported issue and ask you to confirm against deletion of such unwanted content from the website. Hope this promotes better reporting and cleaner focused community.
MARINE POLLS removed temporarily
Did not want to, but had to, temporarily remove the "MARINE POLLS" section from the website. We have other advanced plans to integrate it in the Maritime Forum section later.
UPLOAD Section modified
Now you can upload files directly in the Comment/Reply section. This simplifies the process of file upload and makes it far more interactive. You can even rename the File names later which was missing in the previous version of file uploads. New uploaded files will be shown in the Maritime Forum section and previously uploaded files are shown in the DOWNLOADS section. We will soon shift old files to this new format. We have temporarily removed the grading of old files too.
Corrected the pending Colleges and companies details also. Will be cleaning the Maritime Forum section of unwanted, not replied queries and Spam soon.

We have started support for regular used BBCode. This should help in formatting your post like highlighting content/bold/link etc. You can check the list of BBCode Tags we support or test how BBCode to HTML works.
Private Message started
You can send message to anyone now by going to their profile. Request to send message only when you think it concerns both party else use MERCHANT NAVY FORUM for general queries and updates. Please do not spam !

Today we completed the updates and changes made includes
Maritime Forum

Optional tagging started for new topics. New setting also includes the options to control the overall layout of the post. You can choose whether you want the latest comment to be first or last. This way the topic layout could be more focused with controlled comments.
Blog section started

We started the blog section with this update. I was mixing non maritime topics in maritime forum and wanted to separate that. My personal experience at a Facebook group also made me realize that Blog is a necessity of JAHAJEE.com now. I have more plans with forum and blog which soon will follow.
Better performance

We were struggling with performance for past few months and changed our server, also have improved back-end programming so we expect better performance in coming months and hopefully lesser downtime.
Tools tab added

Added tools section and shifted maritime conventions, countries there. Moved the ship traffic and sea-time calculator too ! This way the site remains more focused and with lesser navigation tabs its less confusing! We also deleted the affiliate tab which seemed odd one out in the navigation tab.
More focused on YOU

While I was confused whether to delete the profile tab or not, but once I shifted user details under USER, deleting it made more sense. Again we have future plans to focus on users more. As we gain more traffic I would like to know more about you for more focused and better content. Of course blog section comes under your profile and I think giving a topic/subject makes your reader more informed.
Settings are more user specific and separated from your profile. Notifications improved too. You can follow any user or any topic which you find interesting !

Ek Do Teen Chaar... to all Jahajees.
So finally we migrated to a better server. Last month was really frustrating for us with more than 12 days continuous down time and registration/password issues. We switched to a better server to cope with both. Checked the mail settings and password issues too, corrected them. Thanks to libinkk4 and alladin007 for their feedback. Presently the Notification feature may not work but will correct that with next update only.
I will soon be updating the company and college contacts as there are pending feedback about it, followed with more features and focused content.
Also am sorry for ignoring jahajee.com (a bit only) as was busy with personal life (details will post later). Hope coming months will be more happening and you will like the changes.
