Bsc in nautical science degree after Diploma in Nautical Science

I have cleared IMU's 1,2,3,4,5 semester exams and 2nd mate written exam from Mumbai, I have yet to clear my 2nd Mate MMD oral exam.
I have heard that for applying BSC Nautical Science degree after Diploma in nautical science, we have to contact MMD or contact DG Shipping to send our sixth semester mark sheet to IMU and from there we will get BSC degree certificate.

So, my query is

1. Is the sixth semester marksheet which we have to ask MMD or DG to send to IMU, is involving only 2nd mate written exam or both written or oral exam ?
2. It is not yet clear from where should I ask to send the sixth semester mark-sheet, from MMD or DG, I had contacted my DG Approved pre sea Institute, they say to contact IMU, but no one replies from IMU or picks up Phone !
3. Will I get the BSC certificate delivered to my home address , or it will delivered to my pre sea institute, or the address in my DG profile or do I have to collect it myself and from where to collect it ?
4. How much time is involved in getting the degree or will I get any provisional degree until I get the final Bsc Nautical Science degree ?

I am planning to pursue higher studies but will be need the degree,any help or advice would be helpful.

  1. After doing DNS you need to clear both your Written and 2nd mate Oral Exams. Getting your 2nd mate COC is considered to be completion of Semester 6.
  2. You do not need to ask anyone, generally concerned MMD will send required documents to IMU
  3. I am not sure about this but previous DNS Cadets have reported getting it at their home. It is better you contact IMU after 10 to 15 days of clearing your 2nd mate orals.
  4. Yet again, no written duration can be found in DG Shipping website and I am unsure !

  Can we appear for UPSC Exam with this B.Sc Nautical Science Degree that we get through DNS Entry ?
