MMD Mumbai rejects DCE for ratings ?
Hi all,
I am a rating from engine side. I had completed 10 months of sea-time. I wanted to apply for DCE for Chemical tanker at Mumbai MMD-CST. However lady on the counter at MMD denied to give me application for as she said that ratings do not need to have DCE and if they require DCE they must have COC. I want to know how true is it ??? Please anyone can help on this as i am confused and have no help. Thank You.

0 Hi I am also an engine rating...I have issued DCE OIL from Kolkata. But there is nothing like that in the from....but if if it is there in the from u may put ur gp rating certificate no in that place...tho it is not the coc no....

You can download the DCE form which details the requirement for Dangerous Cargo Endorsement in general. Note this form is for reference and it is always advisable to get the DCE form from respective MMD - Dangerous Cargo Endorsement any MMD

I have not found any DG Shipping circular which refuses DCE to ratings, in-fact its becoming mandatory for everyone to have minimum DCE support level soon.
Its advisable to contact MMD Mumbai surveyors if the lady still refuses the form and consult them with your problem. If still the problem persist please get DCE from other nearest MMD like GOA or Jamnagar (I would not suggest that since then the lady will never learn and other mariners will still face the same problem).
