Indian CDC entry correction
I am a Bsc Nautical Science cadet and am sailing on a foreign shipping company where the captain had put the rank in my Indian CDC as Ordinary Seaman (OS) but RPSL approved shipping company will give me a rank deck cadet !
Can I ask the captain to do correction in my CDC for my merchant navy rank or is there any other process so that I don't face any problem while my sea-time assessment at MMD.

0 Correct entry for various Merchant Navy Ranks matter a lot for sea-time assessment in MMD !
It is better to ask your ship captain to strike out wrong entry, correct your rank to Deck Cadet and counter sign.
When you go for your 2nd Mate Examination at MMD, you will be asked to bring Sea-time letter from your RPSL company. Also your Company updates form 3A which tells DG Shipping all details about your joining like when you joined a particular ship and at which rank.
These additional documents should suffice for CDC correction done by your Master. Its a human error, don't worry ! There have been cases like this before, please check CDC entry mistake, CDC Pages missed while seatime entry and Mistake in CDC entry hope it helps ! Bon Voyage friend.
