My JAGRITI YATRA 2022
Jagriti Yatra was 1 point in my loooong bucket list which I have created for my life, and I started to TRAVEL it from 26 Dec 2022.
My Jagriti Yatra 2022
I came to know about Jagriti Yatra through my friend ROHIT LAL, I think it was 2014 and I added it to my bucket list.
I have been following this MYSTERIOUS Jagriti Yatra in Quora and social media websites but was never able to understand what the heck is it !
With this BLOG I am trying to give a "No Bullshit" experience of this so called longest ENTREPRENEURSHIP (I checked its spelling in Google) journey on train !
I applied into Jagriti Yatra 2022 and got selected, however, journey to join JY was not that easy for me, which I will explain as you progress.

It is really difficult to say who should do Jagriti Yatra ! So I will take the easier reasoning, who should not !
DO NOT DO Jagriti Yatra if
- You love travelling !
For those who think Jagriti Yatra is about travelling let me put it point blank, IT IS NOT NORMAL TRAVELLING !
Jagriti Yatra is coming out of your comfort zone. These days whenever I travel with other families I mostly hear them crib ! Trust me JY is really exhaustive !
Jagriti Yatra Train is not AC train ! Yatris and facilitators are to sleep in Sleeper bogies, all travelling for 15 days with moderate amount of luggages to be opened and shut EVERYDAY ! Its not normal travelling.
Fun fact : You will never find that cloth or charger or socks which you kept above in the bag to easily find it next time when required !
Also if you expect you will be able to see the city or temple, you will be surprised that its Seminars and discussions arranged here ..... where is that Headache pill ?
- You love comfort
Do you like to show your luxurious resorts on Instagram / facebook and Whatsapp ? Its just sleeper berths with under garments of your cohorts hanging over your head here !
- You love cleanliness and Hygiene
There is a separate bogie in train with Water tank on berth and some curtains here and there, its called BATHROOM of the train ! Most morning there will be no water.
Everyday you have to keep all luggages on seats before going so that bogies are cleaned while you are transported to events by Buses.
- You cannot travel by Bus
There is 1-2 hrs of Travelling required by bus to the place of the events. Actually many train stations were outside of the city and good buses were arranged for transportation to the place of events.
Say that again .... AC or non-AC ? Ya correct, you are that type, don't join !
- You want a break from your office
Look, I am a seafarer and I have never seen corporate lingos but there will be too many presentations, slides and discussions here. You know kind of Management mumbo jumbo types. Many times it reminded me about my Shipping company seminars which I loathed.
Fun Fact : I was issued 2 Non-conformance for not attending any seminar in a reputed shipping company for 2 years. After an year it became 3, I changed the company (OK OK I was sacked !)
- You cannot take prolonged bull shit !
I suffer from this syndrome ! Jagriti Yatra journey is attached with ENTREPRENEURSHIP (I checked its spelling in Google) and there are many young minds who have this crazy and vague ideas how they will change the world even though they may not know how to cook Maggie ! I am OK with that, its those who can cook and behaving like they cannot which really really annoys me !
I asked you before ... where is that Headache pill ?
- You love Non-Veg !
The meals here are all vegetarian. Not very bad, not very good, manageable ! You are not allowed to go down the train in intermediate stops and get your food ! You can always manage though !
- You love privacy !
If you love privacy and your own space or you are an introvert, you may find it quite bugging that sooner or later someone comes to know more about you to connect ! Here is my rules of Jagriti Yatra I was forced to create !
Finally the Headache pill .... where is the water now ?

Jahajee.com is NOT affiliated with JAGRITI Yatra by anyways. The only connection is that I, creator of Jahajee.com travelled as Yatri (Yatri Id 2105) from24-Dec-2022 26-Dec-2022 to 08-Jan-2023 06-Jan-2023.

I am writing this Blog after almost half of our journey and reserve my right to change my opinion ! There are many important lessons of life which can be learned here but I will not spoon feed you (I blame our education system for it !)
- I use cuss words !
In 2000 when my senior asked me to say my 1st cuss word at T S Chanakya, I cried full day but did not say it ! Come 2022, my tongue cusses before my mind can control. Strangely this is happening even when I am typing this time ! (My delete button is also not working !)
Request please pardon me for using cuss, my intention is not to hurt you. By the way, below to show my love to my profession, Merchant Navy !
- I am selfish
Trust me I really want God to help everyone but please start with ME. If any reading Yatri saw me at ARAVIND EYE HOSPITAL, being the only Yatri involved in serving food, let me make it clear, I saw a long que and less staff and my heart ached, pained and was shattered and I thought to help, but I had my lunch before it !
Save your dreams by being selfish but avoid hurting your loved ones (its impossible to save your dreams without hurting some)

When I say YOU or THIS I include myself too ! Perhaps this habit I have acquired unconsciously by targeting my blog reading audience with a particular writing style for empathy ! So if its written like "You are idiot" what I meant is "You & I are idiot" similarly "this generation is lost" means "this generation including me is lost".
- I ask too many questions in the most awkward way !
I believe in asking the wrong question till you ask the right question (Link once available) !
- I intend to hurt you.
The reason is simple I believeyourour generation of so called YATRIS have been quite dis-connected and if I speak softly it takes very long opinion based debate !
When you get hurt, there will be 2 things which will happen :
- A) you will HATE ME and avoid me and I am really OK with that as I FIND IT VERY STRANGE HOW ANY RANDOM STRANGER CAN COME AND YOU ALLOW HIM TO HURT YOU BY WORDS, this save me from your future stupid questions !
- B) You will introspect and doubt your biased beliefs and have deeper insight of you, trust me YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER THERE !
- I take my TIME very very very .... very seriously !
If you approach me, please follow my rules of Jagriti Yatra, my doctors told me that I will die, I am suffering from syndrome called Life ! He is unsure when will that be ! (I have limited vacation and I try to utilise it max before I go back to sea)
If there is any Yatri who wants to know about me and why I am always in hurry, search for a YATRI called Doctor RAJA he will be able to explain you this point in detail (I fail to understand though, why would you waste your TIME like this).

I take my privacy very seriously. I will never ask your phone number, please do not ask mine ! I am not here for connections !
When my friends call I start conversation with "JALDI BOL / Speak fast".
Yes you are right ! I have very few friends left and I am OK with that too ! We have accepted each other as we are ! In short I may not have enough time for you !
