cargo gear register its same as cargo chain register. it has 3 part. and it contains records of maintenance of lifting appliances. part 1 consist of annual through examination and inspection of lifting appliances. part 2 consist of annual thorough examination and inspection for loose gear part 3 consist of annealing of rings, hooks, shackle, swivels. etc. the registered is designed by dockyards for 8 years and must be retained on board for a period of 4 more years AFTER the new one comes into force
