COC, CDC, GMDSS expired do not have 12M sea time in last 5 yrs

COC, CDC, GMDSS expired do not have 12M sea time in last 5 yrs

Hello all!
My COC, CDC, GMDSS have expired and am keen to renew them, but neither do I have 12 months of sea-time in last 5 years, nor I have been in maritime industry (as lecturer, superintendent etc).

Can someone guide me with the process ?

  Since you did not mention your country for rest of part I assume you are an Indian. Here is what I found till now :

  1. Expired COC
     STCW requires a mandatory revalidation course for deck officers every 5 years. I am sorry I do not have information whether  dg approved institutes will allow you to do this course or not since you have not sailed for 5 years. It better you contact DG Shipping or contact MMD.
  
  
  2. Expired CDC
     Please check Indian CDC Renewal after 10 years.
  
  
  3. Expired GMDSS GOC
     Since you do not have 6 months sea-time in last 5 Years you will have to appear for GMDSS Examination again. Attached relevant circular for re-examination, also note that GMDSS Course is not mandatory.
     For reapplying please check GMDSS renewal procedure

  1. Not much help from various institutes. Will be contacting MMD for clarification and guidance
  
  2. For CDC I am hoping expired COC should not create any issues with the Shipping master
  
  3. GMDSS: I have a UK GMDSS... would you have some info about that too ?

  Indian CDC Renewal procedure does not want your original documents. While you do need to complete your DG Shipping profile but I doubt anyone sees it! Anyways in my opinion CDC renewal should not be of problem with expired COC (remember COC is not a requirement for CDC). Also even if they reject your application you will get proper mail from DG Shipping about it.
  
  I am really sorry, for UK GMDSS renewal you might have to do some googling as we do not have much information.
